Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR)
Spay Taos can help with spaying and neutering feral cats. The process is simple.
-
Borrow a trap from us. Email to spaytaos@gmail.com to arrange a time and get instructions about how to use it.
-
Check our schedule on the website to determine a good day to trap when the clinic is open.
-
Set the trap the night before with some smelly treat.
-
Bring the cat in to the clinic still in the trap by 9:00 am.
-
We will spay or neuter and vaccinate the cat. Feral cats get the tip of the left ear cut off so the cat can be recognized as already fixed.
-
Pick up the cat when texted with a pickup time.
-
The cat will have been given food and fluids so all you have to do is keep the cat warm the first night and set them loose the next day!
-
Return the trap to Spay Taos after you have completed taking care of your colony.
