Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR)

Spay Taos can help with spaying and neutering feral cats. The process is simple.

  1. Borrow a trap from us. Email to spaytaos@gmail.com to arrange a time and get instructions about how to use it.

  2. Check our schedule on the website to determine a good day to trap when the clinic is open.

  3. Set the trap the night before with some smelly treat.

  4. Bring the cat in to the clinic still in the trap by 9:00 am.

  5. We will spay or neuter and vaccinate the cat. Feral cats get the tip of the left ear cut off so the cat can be recognized as already fixed.

  6. Pick up the cat when texted with a pickup time.

  7. The cat will have been given food and fluids so all you have to do is keep the cat warm the first night and set them loose the next day!

  8. Return the trap to Spay Taos after you have completed taking care of your colony.
