Surgery Day Information

  • Drop-off time for dogs is between 7:30 and 8:00 am

  • Drop-off time for cats is between 8:00 and 8:30 am

  • Feral cats don't need an appointment but must be at the clinic, still in the trap, by 9:00am; check the calendar for clinic open days.

**If your dog or cat is not at the clinic by 9:00, you will need to reschedule your appointment.**

Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.

** If you do not have a carrier, please request to borrow one of ours. Do not carry your cat in without a carrier!**

Pickup for dogs is usually late morning to early afternoon. Pickup for cats is mid to late afternoon. We will text you when your animal is ready to go home. If you haven't heard from us by 3:30 pm, call the clinic at 575-240-8549.

It is your responsibility to pick up your animal before the clinic closing time.

Please make sure you provide a valid phone number and check for messages frequently.

**Please do not feed your pet after 10PM the night before, but do leave water available. PLEASE WALK your dog prior to surgery to allow him/her to go potty.**

Spay Taos covers post-op complications but owners need to be able to

provide adequate shelter and monitoring after surgery.

Appointments for our services are in high demand. Please inform us of cancellations at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment. If you do not show up for the appointment, you may have to provide a refundable $30 cash deposit to reschedule.

It is useful for Spay Taos to have a count

of how many low-income clients it services.

This table helps you determine

if you fall in that category.

By clicking on the low-income button in the

appointment form, your information will be

recorded anonymously for the sole purpose of

obtaining grant funding.

Our software automatically registers your pet's microchip, so please enter the physical address where you can be found if your pet gets lost.
